What's New?
From the Desk of Mr. Drouhard
Dear Amity Families,
What a difference a year can make! A year ago we were forced to shut down quickly at the end of the 3rd quarter and go remote overnight. While I can’t believe that was a year ago, I know our students are building back academic stamina, having worked our way back 5 days per week of in-person learning during 3rd quarter! It feels good to have that journey behind us, and to be heading in the right direction! I’m looking forward to our 4th quarter and finishing the year in-person with our students!
Take Care,
Josh

Attention 6th Graders in the Remote Learning Academy and Their Parents/Coaches:
Since there is no school on Thursday and Friday (3/11 and 3/12), please plan ahead and make sure you are caught up in your Apex work if you plan on not doing any coursework on those days. For those of you who opt to continue working in Apex on those days, Ms. Hibbett will be available and may be reached via email or Band. As always, parents/coaches are encouraged to reach out as well if your 6th grader is struggling, and Ms. Hibbett will call or meet with you online to offer support and problem-solve.

Students will have the opportunity to raise money for kids with heart complications and earn fun prizes while doing so! Last year, our K-3rd graders raised over $3,200 for the American Heart Association! You can get started by registering your child at heart.org/KHC. Please reach out to Mrs. Fowler if you have any questions.

This year, we’re making the most of out-of-school time by helping elementary schoolers (up to 12 years old) reconnect with friends and make up for lost learning time. Join us for spring break held March 29th-April 2nd at Amity Elementary, located in the cafeteria! Cost is $40 a day and there will be a one-time enrollment fee of $50 or $75 for multi-family! Are you a teacher, military or a multi-family? Ask us about our discounts! We do accept subsidy! Want more information please call us today and speak with our site director Amber Meece!

Writing Circles Opportunity
Please see the flyer below for an opportunity for students in grades 4-6 to get involved in a writing group put on by Women Writing for a change.

Attendance
Please remember to call our attendance line (513-891-2414) or email Betty Jung (jung.b@dpccsd.org), our attendance secretary, if your student is going to be out.
This is especially important with the number of people that are either required to quarantine by the health department, or quarantining on their own accord. We need to be aware of these situations outside of school so that we can appropriately mark the attendance and provide guidance from the district if necessary. Thanks for all your help!
Amity Cat News
The Amity Cat News is up and running. Our student led morning announcement is scheduled to post every morning at 7:45 so your student can stay connected with what is going on whether they are at school or at home. The link to the youtube channel is below
