The Amity Weekly Minute: April 5, 2021

Amity Elementary

What's New?

From the Desk of Mr. Drouhard

Dear Amity Families,

Hopefully your child had a nice break and was able to be a kid for a week! A little mental rest along with going out to enjoy some sunshine goes a long way. We have 8 weeks left before the end of the school year, and it will go by quick! We're looking forward to a positive finish!

Take Care,
Josh

School Resumes Tuesday, April 6th

We look forward to seeing our students bright and early on Tuesday, April 6th when school resumes.

Spring Ohio State Test Dates

We will be taking the Ohio State Test this spring in grades 3-6. We want our students to show what they know, so it will be important that they come in with a solid breakfast and plenty of rest. We will continue to prepare them daily for these assessments. Should your child be out on one of these dates, make ups will be administered as soon as possible.

Warmer Weather and Dress Code

With a return of warmer weather we pull out our children’s shorts, skirts, and shirts from the fall. Please take a moment to have your child try them all on before sending them to school. Our students have grown a lot since they last put them on, and we want to make sure they fall within our dress code for length and coverage. Thanks for your help!

Attendance

Please remember to call our attendance line (513-891-2414) or email Betty Jung (jung.b@dpccsd.org), our attendance secretary, if your student is going to be out.

This is especially important with the number of people that are either required to quarantine by the health department, or quarantining on their own accord.    We need to be aware of these situations outside of school so that we can appropriately mark the attendance and provide guidance from the district if necessary.   Thanks for all your help!

Amity Cat News

The Amity Cat News is up and running. Our student led morning announcement is scheduled to post every morning at 7:45 so your student can stay connected with what is going on whether they are at school or at home. The link to the youtube channel is below
