Deer Park Jr/Sr High School Wildcat Weekly May 2nd, 2021

Jr./Sr. High School

Prom Week!

Good afternoon,

May is upon us, and this Saturday we will finally be celebrating our Junior/Senior Prom.  We released information to our families a few weeks ago (click here if you missed it), and we sent a letter to our students a couple of days ago.  If parents would like to see this letter, please see this link.

There is a lot going on over the next few weeks, and time will fly by!  AP testing begins this week, 8th Graders go to Washington D.C. next week, awards ceremonies begin the following week, and then we have the final week of the school year.  Please be sure to stay tuned for more information about these and other events as we finish strong.

Have a great week!

Shane Hartley

Principal, Deer Park Jr/Sr High School

What's New

The first week in May marks our annual Teacher Appreciation Week!  I want to take this opportunity to thank ALL of our teachers and support staff for all they do to help our students succeed.  The last year of education has certainly been like no other that we've encountered in our lives, and our teachers consistently have gone above and beyond to help our students succeed.  If you get a chance this week, please feel free to send a quick note or email to your students' teachers to let them know how much you appreciate them!

Later this week, we will send out a comprehensive and detailed explanation for all of our Summer learning opportunities.  This includes:

  • Academic Recovery "A Plus" Summer Program (previous information for this can be found with this link)

  • Summer School (For students needing credit recovery due to not passing a class)

  • Summer ACT Bootcamp

We will continue to release information for Senior end-of-year events on each Tuesday for the rest of the school year.  For a link to this past week's information, please click here.  Please remember that ALL seniors are invited to Senior Awards (May 25th), since we will NOT know the winners ahead of time.

In the past, we have often been able to use events like Homecoming and Prom to help parents/guardians remember to pay student fees.  With no Prom or Homecoming over the last year, however, unfortunately many student fees have gone unpaid.  Please consider this a friendly reminder to check and pay for your child's student fees.  Thank you for your help!  Here is a link to the PaySchools website, and please feel free to reach out to the front office (513-891-0010) for any help or questions.  We greatly appreciate it!

By 5/7, please complete all work from Units 2-3.
