A Message from Amity Principal Josh Drouhard

Dear Amity Families,

For those of you that don’t know, our upper grades partner with the University of Cincinnati Economics department to offer a StEP program. In this program, students receive StEP dollars for positive behaviors such as completing homework, arriving to school on time, showing academic achievement, and overall good behavior. Student’s can then choose how they want to spend their earned currency as the StEP store is opened at the end of each quarter, and a variety of prizes can be purchased or students can make a donation to a local charity.

I am proud to announce that Amity was the #1 school that donated their StEP dollars to a local charity, and donated twice as much as the next highest school. Approximately $80,000 StEP store dollars were donated, which equates to $902.54. The students chose to donate their money to “A Kid Again”. This program works to provide fun adventures to families who have a child with a life threatening condition.

We live in such a giving community, and the next generation of Deer Park graduates has already developed this amazing quality. Way to go to the students of Amity! I am so proud of you all!

Take Care,

Josh

Homeroom Teacher Announcements and Amity Meet and Greet

As we start to get closer to the start of the year, students start wondering who they have for their homeroom teacher. I wanted to let you know that Amity homeroom teacher assignments will be announced the week of August 9th. We will have an “Amity Meet and Greet” for our students to meet their teachers on Monday, August 16th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. This will be a great time for families to get into the building to say hello to their teachers, see their classrooms, and drop off school supplies before the first day. We look forward to welcoming you back into Amity this school year!

PTO School Supply Kits are back!

Again this year the PTO has partnered with Bright School Kitz to provide an opportunity for you to order your students' school supplies for this school year. To order go to www.schoolkitz.com, find your school - Amity Elementary and select your students grade. The kits will be shipped directly to your house prior to the beginning of the school year! For any questions or concerns, email the PTO at DPPTO2012@gmail.com.

Save the Date: Launch 2021 | Friday, July 30

Two years ago, and for two-years running, Deer Park Schools and our community organization OneDeerPark hosted a summer festival called Launch, that provided our students with back-to-school supplies, haircuts, food, games and prizes all at no charge to the families. Everything was completely FREE! While COVID obviously put a halt on our momentum last year, we are back up and running this year and looking to make it our best event yet!

Thanks to local sponsors and OneDeerPark, this festival-like event will feature carnival games, prizes, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, a dunk tank and so, so much more!

Come out, grab a burger or hot dog, play a game or two, and get a fresh cut to get ready for the start of the 2021-22 school year! It's sure to be a great event for the entire Deer Park community!
