Dear Deer Park Families:

This year, we will share our current COVID-19 data with our staff, students, and families (as required by the Hamilton County Public Health Department) each Friday through an email release. This data will include all student and staff positive and probable cases, as well as quarantine numbers for each building. All parents/guardians of students who are considered close contacts are notified within 24 hours of the positive case.

Following the guidance from the Ohio Department of Health and the Governor’s Office, students who are deemed to be close contacts within the traditional classroom are not required to quarantine as long as they are vaccinated or wearing their masks.  We will still contact families of students who are deemed to be close contacts so that parents can monitor their child more closely for possible symptoms.

Please continue to closely monitor your child for symptoms of COVID-19, which may include cough, shortness of breath, and new loss of taste and/or smell.  Other symptoms may include fever, shivering with chills, body aches, headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion, or running nose.  If your child develops any of these symptoms, please keep your child home and consult with your physician regarding next steps.

It is imperative that we all remain vigilant in monitoring for symptoms and continue to practice good hand-hygiene, distance when possible, and wear masks (ensuring that masks cover the mouth and nose).

Thank you for your support of Deer Park Schools.
