CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Deer Park High School girls basketball program will have a new face at the helm of the program for the 2021-22 season, as Ryane Wynn has been named the head coach, Athletic Director Greg Huster has announced, pending board approval.
Wynn, who also serves as an educational aide at DPHS, joins the girls basketball program with a wealth of experience at both the high school and AAU level. Wynn served as the Varsity Head Coach of Spencer Center High School for the 2020-21 season.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Ryane to our coaching ranks," Huster said. "He brings with him a pedigree of not only tremendous coaching, but strong development of players at the high school level."
Prior to his time at the Spencer Center, Wynn garnered experience as Assistant Varsity/Junior Varsity Coach and Head Coach of the freshman program from 2015 to 2019. During the 2019-20 season, he was named Interim Head Coach of the varsity team. His freshman squad went 18-3 during the 2015-16 season and captured three straight Eastern Cincinnati Conference championships.
From 2011 to 2015, Wynn served as the Strength Coach and Assistant Varsity/JV/Freshman Coach at Summit Country Day High School. During this time, Summit won four straight Miami Valley Conference and OHSAA Sectional Championships. The program also won three straight OHSAA Regional titles. Wynn was integral in the development and training of four NCAA Division I, two NCAA Division II, and six NCAA Division III prospects.
Wynn also bolsters a tremendous presence in AAU basketball, as the Director and Owner of the Redstorm Runnin Rebels basketball program. The squad, which features 3rd through 12th grade teams, features more than 70 girls and won national championships in 5th, 6th and 7th grades during the 2020 season.
"We had the perfect fit for our program right here in the Park, in the classroom every day with our students," Huster said. "We're very thankful for the efforts and successes of our previous coach Tom Focke, and ready for Ryane to take this program to even greater heights!"
