What's New?
From the Desk of Mr. Drouhard
Amity Families,
There is plenty going on at Amity in the spring. We had our Amity Talent show for all of our students to enjoy before spring break. There was singing, dancing, acting, and magic for our students to enjoy. I’m grateful for all the students that were brave enough to stand up there and perform! They all did a great job!
We will have our Amity STEAM and Fine Arts Night this coming week. We will open our doors at 5:30 for this event. Please mark your calendars and plan on coming out with your family for a fun night. All the information can be found below regarding the program and times of the event. We look forward to seeing everyone!
Take Care,
Josh
Amity STEAM and Fine Arts Night
Amity will be celebrating STEAM and Fine Arts night together on Thursday, April 7th. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. It is an educational philosophy that viewing and teaching these disciplines in combinations will lead to innovative thinkers and creators in life. The halls of Amity will be lined with student artwork for parents and students to immerse themselves in as they travel from classroom to classroom. Within our classrooms we will have teachers leading our parents and students in science experiments and math games.
Doors will open at 5:30 so that parents can view student artwork and explore the different continents of the world through art. Each student will have at least one piece of art on display within the building.
Math games and science experiments will run from 6:00-7:00 that night. Our 5th grade will be performing at 7:00 in the gym to conclude the night.
Ohio State Testing
Students in grades 3-6 are gearing up for the state AIR assessment. This is an opportunity for students to show all that they know and demonstrate all of the hard work that they have put in this school year! Please Help Reduce Tardies To School
I recognize that as the school year rolls on, our ability to get our students up in the morning becomes harder. We need to renew our efforts in the morning to get our students up and out the door. School starts at 8:00, and our teachers are starting the educational process at that time daily. While it may not feel significant to be a couple minutes late, if done daily it will add up to a lot of educational minutes! Thank you for your help!
Champions Program At Amity
Champions offers before and after school programs at Amity Elementary to help working parents. Please see the attached flier for more information.

Attendance
Please remember to call our attendance line (513-891-2414) or email Betty Jung (jung.b@dpccsd.org), our attendance secretary, by 9AM if your student is going to be out.
This is especially important with the number of people that are either required to quarantine by the health department, or quarantining on their own accord. We need to be aware of these situations outside of school so that we can appropriately mark the attendance and provide guidance from the district if necessary.
Thanks for all your help!
