Jr./Sr. High School

What's New?

A Message from the Principal

Hello Deer Park Families! Happy Sunday!

We have had a great first week of school! It has been wonderful getting to know your kids and having them in school! We had our first Deer Park Senior Retreat on Tuesday, focusing on six elements of leadership and we have discovered that we have some outstanding leaders in this class. There is more information and some great photos in our Building Spotlight section below. I am so excited to work with the Class of 2023 this year.

I also want to brag on our 7th graders and their transition to Jr./Sr. High School. They have come in like they have been here all along! They have a lot of personality and are so much fun to be around. It is going to be a great school year and we look forward to partnering with you so that all of our kids no matter what grade can have a great year and be successful.

Building Spotlight

To open the school year, the Deer Park High School Class of 2023 visited Camp Kern, as a group, for leadership training. Working with Cincinnati Rise Up, the field trip included lessons in leadership, trust, team building, and working together. It was a tremendous event to kick off the year for our Seniors! Even Deer Park Superintendent Jay Phillips got in on the action!

PSAT Information for Sophomores and Juniors

If you are interested in taking the PSAT, please sign up at the counseling office. If your student needs accommodations, the deadline is August 23rd; otherwise the deadline for registration is September 9th.

The PSAT will take place at the high school on Wednesday, October 12th.

Coffee with The Administrators

We want to know what you think and what your questions are. Starting in September we will have one night a month where you can meet with us and ask questions or learn more about the different things going on at the Jr./Sr. High School. Sometimes we will bring in experts on specific topics and sometimes it will be more question and answer. We will let you know when our September night will be and hope to see you there.

Bike Racks Needed

We are noticing a lot of students riding their bikes to school, which is great. But we are in need two more bike racks so that all kids can safely lock their bikes during the school day. If anyone is interested in donating, please email me at

Bell Schedule

Please click here for Jr/Sr High Lunch and Bell Schedules

A couple of things to keep in mind regarding the daily schedule:

  • The school day will be 8:10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Doors will open at 7:30 a.m (this is a change from last year) for those students wishing to purchase breakfast or enter the building.

  • All students arriving prior to 8:00 a.m. will report to the cafeteria until the bell rings, releasing them to their lockers and class.

School Supplies

Junior High classroom supply lists are available on the Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School website. At the high school level, specific school supplies are driven by the courses taken.  In other words, teachers will provide information about what you need for their class on the first day of school. All students should plan to bring a notebook and something to write with on the first day.

Schoology and FinalForms

Please be sure your FinalForms are updated prior to your child starting school, as mentioned above, before receiving his/her Chromebook. Please check your previously entered information for accuracy. You may click here to access the forms and get started.

Secondly, as a reminder, teachers use Schoology to keep grades and assignments up to date. Schoology’s platform offers a tremendous amount of information in a user-friendly version. You will be able to communicate with your child’s teachers and check homework and grades through Schoology. If you need your Schoology login information, please contact the main office at 513-891-0010.

  • Students will be allowed in the building starting at 7:30 a.m.

    • They will enter the back of the building by the cafeteria and go to the cafeteria.

    • Breakfast will be available.

    • Students will be dismissed to class at 8:00 a.m.

    • Students must have school appropriate clothes.

  • Students will be expected to turn off their phones and put them away until the end of the school day when they are dismissed to their lockers. That will include Airpods and headphones as well.

  • Starting at 8:10 a.m. the front doors will be the only way to enter the building the rest of the day.

  • If a student needs to communicate with a parent/guardian during the day they can get permission to come to the office and call you.

  • Students will receive their Chromebooks during their first bell.

  • If you have not done so, please remember to pay your school fees and sports fees on FinalForms. If you need financial help please let an administrator or counselor know.

  • Student immunization records are due ASAP:

    • Seventh graders are required to receive:

      • One (1) dose of the Tdap vaccine

      • One (1) dose of the Meningitis vaccine (MCV4)

    • Twelfth graders are required to receive:
