Wildcat Weekly - April 5th, 2020

We all miss you all!  As we continue to work through these strange and challenging times, please know that first and foremost, our school misses our students!

We recognize the challenges that come with parents and students working through their schoolwork at home too.  Our teachers are working hard to find a balance for assignments that allow students to remain engaged while not overwhelming students and families either.  If at any time there is a need or a concern, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

We are committed to a "Students First, Content Second" approach as well as living out our Help Others, Help Our School, and Help Ourselves culture - emphasis on "Help Others"!

Sincerely,

Shane Hartley
Principal, Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School

Assignments: One-Stop Shop

In an effort to streamline where our students and their families can access their assignments, we have created a spreadsheet that each teacher will put their assignments for the week.  That spreadsheet will be posted to the Deer Park Jr/Sr High School webpage on the Deer Park website.

To access that webpage, please click the link below.

Senior Events

We realize that this Coronavirus pandemic took us a little by surprise in many ways, especially in regards to planning for traditional events for seniors.  Please know that we are committed to make the best out of this situation for all students, especially our seniors.

If you happened to have missed a previous deadline (such as Cap and Gown orders or Senior Portraits for the Senior Composite picture in the hallways), please know that we are working with these companies to make these opportunities still available.  This week's Counselor's Corner has information as it relates to Cap and Gown orders.

This may take some time as we simply don't know how long this virus will affect us.  However, as we determine the details we will inform you as parents.

Prom

Good news!  We have a new date set for Prom!  Mark your calendars for Friday, June 19th!  We are still holding Prom at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  We realize that this may conflict with some summer vacation plans, but we also wanted to find a date that we believe will work.  Thank you to the Deer Park students who helped us work through this process too!  More details to come!
