We will provide you with a chromebook and you will continue through the lot to the exit.

You will be asked to sign a Remote Learning Academy Chromebook Agreement prior to being provided with a chromebook. You may fill out the form ahead of time and turn it in at the time you pick up your chromebook or you may fill one out when you pick up your chromebook. We will have extra copies available. If you wish to print it and fill it out ahead of time, Click here.

Tips for Success

We recognize that online learning is difficult at times and requires self-discipline. To help with that, we wanted to share some tips for success with remote learning:

  • Find a quiet place at home for schoolwork
      • If appropriate, use earbuds to help tune out background music
  • Create a schedule for yourself (bedtime, snack time, play time, etc.) and stick with it!
  • Create a schedule for completing your school work and stick with it!
  • Advocate for yourself by asking questions when you don’t understand (email your teacher).
  • Ask for HELP during the school day by emailing your teacher.
  • Read for 20 minutes every day! Please see the following website for statistics and research around the importance of reading for 20 minutes daily: https://www.letsread20.org/
  • Know your limits: Push through when needed, stop and get help when you’re stuck

Workbooks/Supplemental Materials/Supplies

Workbooks for students on Accelerate Education will be purchased for ELA and Math courses. Any additional required materials for other platforms will also be purchased and provided to families. Due to the extension for families to make their selections, these orders will be delayed slightly. We will communicate with you once materials are ready to be picked up.

Internet Support

Deer Park Schools will help to support families who have chosen the fully remote option for their children but do not have internet access at home. We collected the names of families in this position through our School Choice survey on Final Forms. We will be in touch with these families directly to discuss this support. If you feel you need assistance with internet access and you did not mark that on your School Choice form, please contact Dr. Orso at orso.s@dpccsd.org.
